Frequently asked questions.

Why don’t you take insurance?

Reduced Autonomy: Accepting insurance often comes with certain requirements and restrictions. Therapists may need to adhere to treatment plans and diagnosis codes specified by the insurance company, which can limit their flexibility in providing personalized care.

Privacy Concerns: Insurance companies require therapists to share diagnostic information and treatment details to process claims. This can compromise the privacy of the therapeutic relationship, as sensitive information may become part of a person's permanent medical record.

Quality of Treatment: Sessions per day tends to correlate with therapist burnout. Insurance based work within agencies tends to require you meet a quota or productivity marker per day, which can be unmanageable and lead to fatigue and low-quality therapy sessions. By not paneling with insurances, I am then determining a rate for my services that compliments the value of my services and allows me to prioritize my energy for the sake of your treatment quality.

*In some cases, insurances will accept a superbill, which will provide some reimbursement.

What to expect for an initial session

We will review your concerns, symptoms, and hopes for treatment. Based on that information we will collaboratively create some goals to work towards. We will review necessary paperwork, scheduling needs, ongoing cadence of sessions and any questions or concerns you may have for treatment.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is plenty of parking attached to the building. We have 1-2 handicap parking spots available.

Are there cancellation fees?

If you are experiencing needs that our session interferes with, I encourage all my clients to reach out and directly communicate. There will be a cancellation fee of the session’s full value if cancellation is done less than 4 hours prior to the appointment. No fee will be charged if we are able to reschedule at a time that fits your needs.

How do I prepare for therapy?

There is no need to prepare for therapy. If you do not know what to talk about during a session, that is okay. If you would like some questions to ask yourself before your initial sessions, try these below…

Where in my life am I feeling unfulfilled?

What are the aspects of life that I want more of?

Is there growth within myself, my relationships, and my emotions I would like to see?

Am I feeling stuck or movement in life, and where?

What does the space offer?

Conference room with table and chairs, optional sensory objects for use, bathroom, waiting area, front porch, and lawn access. For your privacy, we will have additional noise machines and optional entrances available.

What to wear to therapy?

Focus on being comfortable. There is no dress code or expectations for attire. Wear what will help you feel most comfortable, alert, and connected to yourself.
