Modalities and Approaches to Therapy

  • Attachment Regulation competency

ARC - We will thoughtfully explore your ways of relating to others, connecting with your emotions and body and your sense of self. ARC focuses on creating understanding and harmony about our relational, emotional and intrapersonal needs. We will explore all your intersecting identities, impactful experiences and big picture hopes for growth.

  • SMART

Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment (SMART) is a somatic and attachment-based treatment for children and adolescents experiencing or who have experienced complex trauma.

SMART includes sensory input and motor exploration, utilizing various tools like yoga ball, weighted blankets, elastic bands etc.

Although this modalities is mainly researched with youth, I have found it to be very effective with adults as well.

  • Internal Family Systems

IFS is frequently used as an evidence-based psychotherapy, helping people heal by accessing and healing their protective and wounded inner parts. IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.

  • Trauma Sensitive Yoga Practices

We will utilize foundations in trauma theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and hatha yoga, with an emphasis on body-based yoga forms and breathing practices. This somatic practice will support your nervous system in reworking its pathways to regain control.
